The blind hem stitch is an excellent way of securing a fold in a piece of fabric. When it’s done well, it doesn’t show from the outside and provides a professional finish to your hemming.
Here’s how
Step 1 Working from left to right fold back the edge of the hem and fasten the thread inside.
Step 2 Make a small stitch in the garment, picking up only a couple of threads and then one from the hem. Keep all stitches small and
about 5mm apart.
Step 3 Continue taking alternating stitches from the garment and the hem until the hem is complete.
Step 4 Finish off by over-stitching in the same place 3 or 4 times to secure the thread.
