Dig for victory

This little film may be ancient and we no longer need to dig for victory, but the advice in this wartime video is on the button.

There’s a great visual demonstration of digging a plot, preparing the ground, sowing seeds, planting out seedlings etc. It’s very short but packed with useful information that’s as relevant today as ever to the novice veg grower.

I love watching these old films. The advice given back then is still relevant today. I will be adding this site to my blog as it makes us go back to the old values that used to be in our lives. Well done.

This video was just what I needed! My young friends at our Artist Co-op are trying to have a community garden, but they don't even believe in weeding before they till. I shared this on Facebook & hope that it helps their efforts. I go out to weed but some younger people still ask me "Why?"
