All you have to do is tell us why you should win. If you’ve never sewn before, it could be to learn to sew a straight seam. If you’re a real expert, it could be to make a new summer wardrobe. Maybe you want to have a go at quilting or maybe you’re tackling a home make-over project and looking to save by making your own curtains, blinds and cushions. Just tell us what you’d do with this amazing machine – and why. But remember, you need to be a member – join now on the right.
The best and most inspiring entry, in the opinion of the judges, will win their own Janome DXL603 (see details below). Remember, you don’t have to be an expert or even have used a sewing machine before – you just need to be keen to get sewing!
Here’s how you enter:
- Tell us why you think you should win this fabulous Janome sewing machine and what you would make with it
- Important – include your Makeitandmendit member name – if you haven’t joined yet it’s free to do so, see the box below
- Don’t forget your name and address so we can send you the sewing machine if you win
- Email your entry to info@makeitandmendit.com with sewing machine in the subject line
- You can enter more than once, but only only one prize per household!
- Closing date for entries is Thursday 10th February at midnight
- Entries only open to UK residents
- Employees, agents and families of Janome UK Limited and Make it and Mend it Limited are not eligible to enter
The competition is now closed!

what would I do with it? lots. I have a very basic machine and ruffling my hair regularly because things don't work so well and it's quite limited. I'd sew more often, clothes for my wee girls, things for the house, getting into a habit of sewing rather than the occasional attempt at it. I've pledged this year to try and not buy presents, but to make them, so will be sewing much more to try and live a bit more sustainably.
