Kate Moss has thrown her weight (well, perhaps that’s the wrong metaphor) behind a green charity that supports Make it and Mend it’s passions.
She ‘stars’ in an animation in which a paper doll Kate takes two different lifestyle approaches: spend, spend, spend or mend, mend, mend. It’s both fun and thought provoking.
The not-for-profit organisation, Do The Green Thing, who are behind the animation, explain: “Take one person and make her the ultimate twister, taking every chance to consume something new. Now take the same person and make them the ultimate sticker, sticking with what they had wherever possible. How different would their lives be?”
The viewer can choose which version of Kate’s life they want to watch in the video called ‘Twisted Kate, Sticky Moss’. The Twister version shows our Kate buying clothes like crazy and even undergoing plastic surgery. The accompanying soundtrack to this life is: ““New dress, new bag, new phone, new shoes, new man, new phone, but still not happy.”
In the other option she’s seen repairing clothes and turning her back on the consumer lifestyle, to the words: “Keep it, mend it, play with it, love it.” The closing message is: Stick with what you’ve got. Dothegreenthing.com.
We love the video and hand on our congratulations to Naresh Ramchandani and Andy Hobsbawm who started Do The Green Thing.
And of course Kate.
